Fast Friends: a road to god knows... adventure!
Fast Friends is the story of how Marie and Kelly, the main characters of the road to god knows..., meet for the first time.  It sets the stage for the friendship we'll later see in the graphic novel.  As I've often mentioned to people, as much as I feel that road deals with mental health and how a teenage girl copes with her mom's schizophrenia, it's also very much a story about friendship.  And how friendship can see us through some very dark times.    

This short story first debuted at the 2007 edition of the Alternative Press Expo (APE) in San Francisco.  It was a small little ashcan and approximately 300 signed copies were given away that day (Heh.  I guess it's a little collector's item now!).  The story also had a slightly different title.  Since this was the firs short story featuring Marie and Kelly as little kids, the title of the ashcan was (fittingly), Li'l Kids: a road to god knows... adventure!  One of my favourite reviews of the story was written over at A Comic A Day.  I think that Russ, the reviewer, got everything I was trying to do with it and that's pretty special to me.  I just love it when that happens.  The review is just over here (the link opens in a new window).
