Big Release Day For Wolf's Head On ComiXology!

Sanko and Friend from Von Allan's Wolf's Head I wasn't quite expecting this, but ComiXology has just released issues 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of WOLF'S HEAD! Woo hoo! Pretty exciting! Since Wednesdays are (at least in North America and the UK) considered in the comic book world as “new comic day,” then this is by far the biggest new comic day I've ever experienced.

WOLF'S HEAD marks the longest comic book series I've ever done and these issues represent a great deal of change in the lives of Lauren, her mom Patty, Patty's dog Sankó, and the young artificial intelligence that Patty has befriended. When you finish issue 6 and reflect back to where the characters were at the start of issue 1, you'll find that they're all in very different places. The kind of comics I love are ones where there's a great deal of change (real change!) in the stories. Nothing is static and evolution is constantly occurring. It can be challenging to write, but it's a great deal of fun to read. I think, if you give the series a chance, you'll feel the same way.

And I'm also very happy to have the series out in this format, the way it was meant to be read. For those who don't know, the print versions of the series have been released in approximately sixty page volumes. Each volume contains two issues, not just one, broken into two chapters. For the print publication, this solved certain problems and I quite like the result, but the ComiXology releases represent the definitive format that I had originally expected the series to be released in. And these releases also represent one helluva journey for me personally. For those who've followed my career over the past ten years, my learning curve in both writing and visual art has been a difficult one. It's taken a long time to get to where I am now and it is exciting to get to this point. When I look over the ComiXology releases of WOLF'S HEAD, it's hard not to think about where I was when I first came up with the idea for the series to where I am now. It's not just the characters that have changed and grown!

I'm not sure yet when issue 7 will launch, but I'm pleased as punch to get these issues out there in the world. For your reference, here are the links (so far!) to each issue:

And don't hesitate to let me know what you think. I love hearing from readers!
